5th Plenary - Monday, June 29, 2015
The UCC's retiring general minister and president was honored by the young people of General Synod, who showed up at the Sunday evening worship/concert to jump, jive and "dance for Jesus".
A Flood of School Supplies
Synod attendees stepped up to make the 2015 service project a success with a wave of ‘Stuff the Pack’ school supplies, swamping expectations, and assisting thousands of local children in Cleveland.
A learning experience
General Synod attendees took a sacred pause Saturday to a take in variety of workshops. Topics included helping churches grow their ministries, literacy, innovation in worship, youth and youth adult ministry, LGBTQ ministry, the Middle East, social media, and ministering to returning veterans, among others.
The Great Big Synod Dance
UCC General Synod attendees, both young and old, put on their dancing shoes and took to the floor Saturday night, June 27, during the Great Big Synod Dance with the Ovation Band providing great music. This is the first time, but most likely not the last time the church's biennial gathering hosts a dance party.
